I have had two WordPress blogs hacked into formerly. That was in a time when I was doing almost no internet advertising, and until I found time to deal with the situation (weeks later), these sites were penalized at the main search engines. They were not eliminated the ratings were reduced.
My first step isn't one you have to take but I was helped by it. I had a fantastic old fashion pity party. I cried and railed against the evil hackers (that where probably 13 and smarter then me) And then I did what I should have done before I even started my website. You need to enter that link into your browser, copy the contents that you return, and then replace the keys you have with the unique, pseudo-random keys provided by the website. This makes it harder for attackers to automatically create a"logged-in" cookie for your site.
As I (our fictitious Joe the Hacker) understand, people have far too many usernames and passwords to remember. You you could look here have got Twitter, Facebook, your online banking, LinkedIn, two site logins, FTP, web hosting, etc. accounts which all include logins and passwords you will need to remember.
Oh . And incidentally, I talked about plugins. Make sure it's a secure one when you get a plugin. Do not install any plugin just because the owner is saying on his site that plugin will allow you to do this or that. Use maybe, or a test blog to look at the plugin get a software engineer to analyze it. This way isn't a threat for you or your business.
